What You'll Do as Truck Driver Light:

  • Conducts daily inspections on vehicles before operating and annotates AF Form 1800.

  • Assists with loading and unloading of personnel and cargo.

  • Operates a variety of vehicles from sedans to 1 vehicle, ½ ton trucks and 15-passenger vehicles.

  • Maintain cleanliness of vehicles.

  • Maintain proper radio etiquette, including the use of 10 series radio communication codes.

  • Performs other associated duties as assigned.

  • If assigned to VIP runs, may operate the VIP Minibus or Minivan.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • Requires experience using hand tools.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Frequently required to sit and climb or balance.

  • Use of hands and fingers to handle or feel. Ability to reach with hands and arms.

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds assisted.

  • Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

  • Ability to work as a team member.

  • Self-starter, able to work with minimal direction and supervision.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.

  • Ability to work outside in inclement weather as needed and be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors.

  • Abide by the code of conduct for Distinguished Visitor Drivers.

  • Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.

  • Ability to be on call after hours and handle emergency calls.

  • Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance/Secure Area Badge for assigned job and be flight line qualified (where applicable).

  • Must be able to obtain National Agency Check (NAC).

  • Must possess a Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement.
