SAIC XFAB Field Service Rep in OKINAWA, Japan

Description

SAIC is looking for a Field Service Representative (FSR) in Okinawa, Japan to support U.S. Marine Corps (USMC) equipment: XFAB (a self-contained, transportable additive manufacturing lab), TACFAB (a mobile additive manufacturing kit), and SEMS (a self-contained, transportable subtractive manufacturing lab).

JOB DESCRIPTION

Support will include but is not limited to: system hardware, software, and network system administration, as well as pack-out and set-up, equipment operation, maintenance, and sustainment of fielded and to be fielded systems. This position will perform annual software updates on system computers, printers, switches, and equipment, troubleshoot failed system components, and repair as necessary. This position will also support connection of systems to approved networks and collaborate with Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane Cyber and Software team.

This XFAB role is in support of NSWC Crane tasking portfolio. The person in this position will be required to assist in training and OTS (over-the-shoulder) system support and troubleshooting to operators. This position will identify and replace components and conduct functional tests to return articles to service; document maintenance and inspection actions; review and implement engineering changes; and provide analysis and recommendations for changes and improvements to equipment installation, operation, modification, and maintenance.

NOTE: This person in this position must be willing to travel and deploy OCONUS full time in Okinawa, Japan.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate Degree and a minimum of nine years of relevant experience, or a High School Diploma and a minimum of 11 years of relevant experience

  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance; Interim Secret needed to start

  • Working knowledge of IT system administration, computer imaging, cyber security, and network setup

  • Must meet the DoDM 8140.03 qualification standards for Cybersecurity Workforce Framework (CSWF) certificate

  • U.S. Passport with 6 months validity

  • Available for a flexible work schedule, including extended or weekend hours, sometimes on short notice, to include holidays as needed

  • Valid driver's license

  • Ability to meet all OCONUS location-specific requirements as outlined by DoD 4500.54-G, Foreign Clearance Guide

  • Ability to perform all duties while scrupulously adhering to all prescribed safety protocols

  • Knowledge of parts, materials, and processes related to electrical and mechanical components

  • Ability to use various hand, power-driven, and specialty tools

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, handbooks, sketches, block diagrams, schematics, and blueprint drawings

  • Ability to install mounts, brackets, cables, connectors, electronic equipment, and labels.

  • Ability to perform quality repairs in a timely manner

  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

DESIRED

  • Active Secret Clearance

  • Working knowledge of Additive Manufacturing is desirable, including operation of 3D printers, 3D scanners, and Laser Etchers

  • Working knowledge of Subtractive Manufacturing is desirable, including CNC mills and lathes

  • Working knowledge of CAD/CAM software, preferably SolidWorks and Mastercam

  • Knowledge of quality systems (e.g., inspection process, company quality procedures)

  • Strong mechanical skills and experience supporting military systems: troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, installation, and checkout procedures

  • Ability to provide classroom and physical practical exercise instruction for Operator New Equipment Training (NET)
