Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Survey Technician in Oil City, Pennsylvania

DESCRIPTION OF WORK:
- We will give you the tools and training to prepare you to operate manual and electronic equipment for preliminary, right-of-way, engineering, bridge, construction, land, and property surveys. You will work with minimal supervision and make decisions on location and record controlling points and topography points out in the field. Complex or unusual issues will involve collaboration with other team members to fulfill the maintenance unit's business plan and other departmental objectives. You can expect to set up, operate, adjust, and care for various types of survey instruments, as well as establish centerlines, measure angles, and check alignments of structures. Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Work hours may vary due to weather and field conditions, and requires working in inclement conditions.
- Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, on an ad hoc basis. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Oil City.
- Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY:
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as an Engineering Technician; or
- Three years of experience as a member of a survey corps which included duties operating both standard and electronic surveying instruments; or
- One year of experience as a member of a survey corps which included duties operating both standard and electronic surveying instruments, and an associate's degree in surveying, drafting, design, civil or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
Condition of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
