The incumbent reports to the site Continuous Improvement and Capabilities Manager. The position is responsible for engaging team members across the organization to drive continuous improvement through training and capability improvements of all site personnel. This role will provide day to day work direction for the training coordinators throughout the site along with teaching, coaching and mentoring other site team members. Actively pursues and supports standard training solutions across the site and within the KCNA Supply Chain.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support and Champion safety in your manufacturing site by driving educational and behavioral processes to a world class level, through the application of T4E thinking, processes and tools.

  • Support loss control throughout the organization by reinforcing safety systems that demonstrate safety as a value.

  • Fully comply with site and corporate loss management policies.

  • Support training initiatives that build process capability in all team members across the site.

  • Ensure training documents and processes are in compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Manage yourself in accordance with the One K-C Behaviors and values.

  • Builds the capability of the training teams by providing work expectations, guidance, and direction to the product system and platform training coordinators, and coach to address ongoing barriers to delivery

  • Defines and coaches training coordinators in their efforts to provide education on training tools, processes, and techniques to manufacturing site personnel as needed

  • Implements activities that build rapport between the training team and other site personnel

  • Leads, mentors, and supports entire site in execution of the training calendar and plan derived from the Asset Annual Workshops

  • Identifies site wide capability gaps and prioritizes activities to address these gaps, collaborating with training coordinators as needed

  • Training 4 Excellence standards from New Hire through Skills Refresh

  • Training schedules and plans driven from the Annual Workshop process for Assets and Product Systems

  • Training schedules and plans driven from the Annual Workshop process for Assets and Product Systems

  • Just-in-time training opportunities resulting from problem solving activities

  • Partner with key customers in order to examine manufacturing processes for skill/knowledge deficiencies to allow targeted development of training programs.

  • Partner with Operational Excellence/Continuous Improvement team to proactively address and respond to training issues and gaps through root cause analysis, problem solving, diagnostic interviews and surveys.

  • Partner with engineering teams to develop and implement an onboarding process for new/transfer engineers.

  • Conduct focus group sessions to identify learning and training needs, including post-training follow ups to assess training effectiveness and modify as needed.

  • Oversee the onboarding process for new operators and new salary employees .

  • Negotiate and manage relationships with third party vendors for training and development.

  • Develop on-the-job (OJT) trainer program to support training needs and increase employee engagement, including: train-the-trainer, trainer requirements and qualifications, reporting structure and incentive and recognition plan.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in safety, occupational health, industrial hygiene, or a related field.

  • 5-7 years of experience in safety, occupational health and industrial hygiene management within a manufacturing environment, with a focus on legal compliance, risk management, and adherence to company standards.

  • Qualifications required by local regulatory authorities if any.

  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership, management, or supervisory role.

  • Strong communications, interpersonal skills with ability to engage at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to influence behaviors/outcomes w/o direct authority.
