iParametrics LLC Sr. Mechanical Engineer in Ogden, Utah

JOB TITLE: SR. MECHANICAL ENGINEER LOCATION: OGDEN, UTAH (FULL-TIME, IN-OFFICE/ONSITE) ABOUT IPARAMETRICS & THE PROJECT Founded in 2003, iParametrics is a leader in providing innovative solutions in engineering, construction, emergency management, security, and data analytics for both commercial and public sector clients. As a proud subcontractor to Bechtel, we are contributing to the U.S. Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program, a critical U.S. Air Force initiative aimed at modernizing the nation’s aging inter-continental ballistic missile (ICBM) force. This program is essential for maintaining the ground element of the U.S. nuclear deterrent. As part of the Northrop Grumman GBSD nationwide team, Bechtel is responsible for the design, construction, and integration of the launch system. POSITION DESCRIPTION The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing mechanical systems for DOD and USAF projects, with a specific focus on the USAF Ground Based Strategic Deterrent (GBSD) program during its Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase. This role requires strong organizational and teamwork skills, proven problem-solving abilities, and a proactive attitude. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will also bring a passion for innovation to the design process, ensuring high-quality and effective solutions for complex mechanical systems. RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support the design development of mechanical systems and equipment for the GBSD program by preparing studies, drawings, calculations, specifications, and evaluations, ensuring compliance with applicable procedures, codes, standards, and contract requirements.

  • Work collaboratively with mechanical engineers and other technical disciplines in a team environment.

  • Develop design drawings and perform formal calculations for project needs.

  • Size equipment and systems appropriately to meet project specifications.

  • Create detailed equipment and material specifications.

  • Prepare procurement documentation for project materials and equipment.

  • Develop and manage design configuration packages for configuration control and change management.

  • Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM) and coordinate with other disciplines to integrate design efforts.

  • Review vendor submittals and incorporate relevant information into the design solutions.

  • Execute tasks in line with project schedules while maintaining high-quality standards.

  • Coordinate closely with other technical disciplines to ensure seamless planning and execution of work as an integrated team.

      BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related), from an accredited university, with at least 9 years of relevant experience.  

  • US citizenship is required per contract requirement.  

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Relevant experience includes, but is not limited to, drawings, calculations, and specifications for Mechanical systems and equipment on nuclear or industrial process facilities, data centers, central utility plants, or complex building mechanical systems. 

  • Possess active security clearance or ability to obtain security clearance. 

  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written). 

  • Ability to utilize engineering and office automation tools effectively. 

  • Experience developing equipment configuration packages for procurement and maintenance. 

  • Knowledge of industry and regulatory guides, codes, and standards, as well as Bechtel Corporate guides and standards. 

  • Broad knowledge of the application of Mechanical engineering design principles. 

  • Registered Professional Engineer in USA (Mechanical or related Engineering). 

    PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Related experience in drawing development for design of fluid systems, hydraulics, heat transfer, HVAC, and thermodynamic calculations, and equipment specification. 

  • Experience working with procedures meeting quality assurance programs such as ISO-9000. 

  • Prior experience working with government agencies, preferably the Department of Defense. 

  • Experience executing engineering and design with Revit. 

  • Intermediate knowledge of developing CSI Masterformat specifications, or SpecsIntact. 

  • Design experience with Unified Facilities Criteria and the Whole Building Design Guide. 

    BENEFITS & COMPENSATION As a W2 employee of iParametrics, team members are eligible for benefits such as medical, dental and vision, and the company matching 401K plan, subject to plan terms and applicable waiting periods. Compensation for this position is hourly ($29.30 - $63.35) based on experience, background, and skills.
