Intermountain Health Charge Nurse Operating Room in Ogden, Utah

Job Description:

Working with department manager, the RN - Coordinator I provides leadership and clinical expertise on their respective shift and department. They are accountable for coordination of unit resources to ensure that staffing to census and acuity is appropriate both clinically and financially. They function as clinical support for staff and are a role model of competency and professionalism.

McKay Dee Hospital is a Level 2 Trauma Center. Our OR is staffed 24 hours a day/7 days a week. We have 16 working ORs, we run 10-12 ORs daily. McKay OR averages around 40 cases a day. We do all specialties…General, Urology, GYN, Robotics, CV, Vascular, Orthopedics, Ortho Trauma, Neuro, Dental, Plastics, ENT, and Globe Trauma. We do not do transplants here, however, we do assist the Organ Donor Team with organ procurements. We have a staff of just over 100 people, consisting of RNs, ORTs, Data Coordinators, Anesthesia Techs, and Orderlies. We have a great team!!

We offer 8, 10, and 12 hour shifts. We are looking for staff to help cover the 12 hour shifts at this time. All staff are expected to take call and work their share of off shifts. Call and off shift requirements can fluctuate depending on open positions and staff on leave. An off shift is any 11a-11p, 3p-11p, 9a-9p, graveyard shift, or weekend shift. Staff are able to sign up for call and off shifts that work for them. We staff to have our scheduled, elective cases done by 7pm and after that we do urgent/emergent cases. Graveyards, weekends, and holidays are minimal staffing.

Shift Details: Graveyard coverage is needed. Shift differentials offered varying from 10%-25% for evenings/weekends. Experience in the OR preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current RN License in state of practice.

  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.

  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

  • Experience in assigned clinical area.

  • Mentoring experience.

  • RNs hired or promoted into this role need to have or obtain their BSN within three years of hire or promotion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified.

  • One year clinical nursing experience.

  • Leadership experience.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$38.83 - $57.46
