SAP S/4HANA Senior Technical Lead

Role Purpose

GKN Automotive is seeking an SAP S/4HANA Senior Technical Lead who will manage technical teams, provide expertise in development, integration, and SAP BASIS, and contribute to the successful implementation of SAP S/4HANA in all GKN Automotive plants.

Accountable for GKN Integration and Technical Build strategy design for S4/HANA and legacy/external systems, ensuring the quality and governance of Integration Design and Build for S/4HANA implementation program. Accountable for GKN Global Architecture Strategy for S/4HANA and Infrastructure Design. Works closely with System Integrator to ensure agreed technical standards are followed and the technical design is delivered as per plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • SAP S/4HANA Integration – Lead the design and implementation of integration solutions between SAP S/4HANA and external systems, using SAP BTP.

  • BASIS administration: – Lead SAP BASIS administration activities, including system installation, configuration, and maintenance.

  • Custom Development: – Provide technical leadership to the development team, guiding and mentoring developers in SAP technologies.

  • Code review and Quality assurance: - Conduct regular code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices. Implement quality assurance to maintain the integrity and reliability of developed solutions.

  • Security Management: – Lead the Design, implementation, and maintenance of SAP S/4HANA security policies and access controls. Conduct regular security audits and assessments to ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.

  • Infrastructure Planning and Management: – Collaborate with infrastructure teams to design and implement robust SAP S/4HANA infrastructure solutions. Conduct regular Performance controls.

  • EDI: – Provide technical leadership to the Integration/EDI team, ensuring seamless communication between trading partners and internal systems.

  • Technical documentation: – Define the Coding standards and best practices for custom build. Review and approve the technical design specification documents.

  • Collaboration with Functional Teams: - Work closely with functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

To be successful in this position, you will have:

  • Played a role of Technical Team Lead in 6-7 SAP ECC or S/4HANA implementation projects, preferably in multiple locations/ regions.

  • Knowledge of SAP technical roadmap, Private Cloud and best practices for security, compliance, and Performance optimizations.

  • Experience with middleware technologies such as SAP BTP, SAP Integration suit (SAP CPI, API management, Open connectors). Experience in Automotive EDI.

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in SAP Native ABAP, Java & S/4HANA.

  • Leading onsite & offshore HANA team from multiple locations.

  • Understanding the business scenarios for all modules from SAP perspective to meet business specific processes.

  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills. Strong leadership and communication skills.

  • SAP S/4HANA certification in relevant areas are preferred.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

Language Skills: Good English language – both verbal and written
