United Methodist Communities is currently seeking an Activity Assistant (Community Life Assistant) for The Shores, our Senior Care Community located in Ocean City, NJ within picturesque Cape May County.

Requirements for an Activity Assistant:

• High School Diploma or equivalency.

• **Health care - must have CNA license.

• 90-hour course activity preferred.

• One year general work experience.

  Responsibilities for an Activity Assistant:

• Participates in the scheduling of activities and programs within the community, communicates those with residents, encourages participation and participates in assigned programming.

• Conducts assigned programs including 1 to 1 visits.

• Assists with field trips and outings.

• Transports residents to and from planned activities within or external to community.

• Maintains resident's attendance.

• Assists with documentation- daily attendance records and 1 to 1 records.

• Meets with outside local community groups to plan joint projects which benefit community residents as instructed.

• Assures supplies are available for various activities/programs.

• Gives input to residents' care planning- assessments, care plan goals and approaches and progress notes.

• **Community Life Assistants in HC will support the CNA within the households including but not limited to: bed making, light housekeeping, eating support, and other assignments as requested. They will support each household in life engagement through activity, development, and programming.
