IDEX Maintenance Technician in Ocala, Florida

The Maintenance Technician installs, repairs and maintains both electrical and mechanical components and machines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Repair and maintain all types of plant, office, yard, building equipment, structures, and facilities such as roofs, floors, doors partitions, etc. Layout, construct, erect, and install equipment such as conveyors, ducts, racks, partitions, etc.

• Troubleshoot and repair, both electrically and mechanically all plant equipment and machinery. Select proper tools and equipment, make necessary repairs, adjustments and replacements on all types complex controls, control panels, bus ducts, wireways, including those with multiple interlocking and safety devices.

• Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, or power tools.

• Perform yard, grounds and building maintenance duties. Replace, repair and glaze windows and glass. Make plumbing repairs such as repairing valves, cutting and threading pipe, tubing and hoses. Replace lights, ballasts, cords, receptacles and other general electrical duties. Perform painting duties and generally assist in all maintenance work as instructed.

• Perform above duties in a safe manner and without assistance except on unusual or difficult jobs. Consistently produce work of proper quality and quantity.

• All other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES

• Proven ability to work from verbal and written instructions

• Proficiency using an electronic ticketing system

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to perform all duties in a safe manner

• Proven ability to communicate effectively with peers and supervisor

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school education or equivalent required

• Minimum of 3 Years’ experience required

• HVAC experience, and/or certification a plus

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to risk of trauma to fingers and hands. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
