Veterinary Animal Care Attendant

Mississauga-Oakville Emergency & Specialty Hospital, Internal Medicine Department is welcoming a dependable and professional new team member who is looking for an exciting new career! This full-time opportunity includes a range of responsibilities involving hands-on patient care and provides the opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge of our advanced medical practices. In this role, you may also help with and learn from a variety of departments. If you are eager to advance your skills and knowledge as an ACA, this role could be for you!

• Caring for our patients; feeding, walking and offering a gentle voice of assurance

• Ensure animal housing or enclosure is clean, sanitary and comfortable

• Create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for patients and pet parents

• A real aptitude for putting pets and pet parents at ease and creating a welcoming environment

• General housekeeping duties

• Willingness to learn more regarding veterinary services and updated medical procedures

• Compassion and nurturing attitude

• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and maintain a high quality of care in a busy environment

• Ability to adapt in changing situations

• Working with a team focus, assisting the veterinary staff with various procedures, tasks and treatments

• Flexibility to work in various hospital areas as required

Our Internal Medicine ACAs have the opportunity to work with and learn from our RVTs and ACAs as well as our board-certified Internal Medicine Specialists.
