Purpose

This co-op position will assist and support all team members of the Environmental Planning and Permitting Team in duties related to project management, permitting, GIS and land acquisition administration related to ongoing Wind and Solar development projects.

Accountabilities

Project Management:

• Support Environmental Planners, Land and Stakeholder and GIS Technologist in actions and activities related to Wind and Solar development projects.

• Assist in the edit, format and quality control of documents

• Attend planning team meetings, assist in project documentation and in activity follow-ups

Permitting:

• Support Environmental Planners in the development, submission and review of environmental permit submissions

• Support activities related to open houses and public hearings

GIS:

• Support by creating, editing, and producing maps for a variety of functions using ESRI's ArcGIS

• Maintain geographic data and filing structure for incoming data, seek out new open data sources on an as-needed basis

Land Acquisition:

• Support and assist Development Specialist in the administration/documentation of land leases/easements of current wind or solar development projects.

Education and Experience

• 2nd – 4th year University Student with a program focus in GIS, Geomatics, Environmental Sciences or Environmental Planning

• Strong working knowledge of ESRI's ArcGIS 10.6 and AutoCAD

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications

• Knowledge of project management principles a definite asset

• Great teammate with good social skills that values communication, collaboration and coordination

• Ability to work within a fast pace working environment and to changing priorities
