Contract Accounting Manager (within Ecommerce industry)
Remote Position - company is based out of California
$54-57/HR
4 Months + (Covering a Maternity Leave)
MUSTS:
Must have E-commerce (retail/ consumer) industry/accounting experience
Proficient with inventory accounting
What the Role Is:
You will report directly to the VP Accounting and assist with monthly close activities, special accounting projects, process policy implementation, support audit requests, ERP implementation initiatives, and other aspects of operational accounting.
The successful candidate will be detailed and deadline-oriented, operational, and can operate in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.

Demonstrate interest in consumer goods; direct-to-consumer retail
Technical understanding of US GAAP including inventory accounting with the ability to
summarize proper accounting treatment and be able to document these conclusions
Consistently demonstrates a high degree of accuracy
You can communicate complex insights in an easy-to-understand way for a wide range
of audiences
Youre self-directed, proactive and able to define and execute projects independently
You have strong business acumen, and excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work cross functionally with other departments
Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic high growth environment where change is constant
BA/BS/Master’s in Accounting or equivalent work experience; CPA license preferred
Minimum of 5-7 years of accounting/finance experience
people management experience is preferred
Experience in the retail/e-commerce industry is preferred
Experience with NetSuite preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills
What You’ll Do/ How You’ll Make An Impact
USGAAP Technical Accounting
You will work closely with the VP Accounting to maintain or develop accounting policies,
procedures and process documentation in accordance with US GAAP
Assist with technical accounting assessments as well as developing estimates & maintaining
proper documentation, as needed
GL Accounting & Financial Reporting (the day to day)
Own certain aspects of the monthly close process and activities including assisting the FP; A team with the monthly budget to actual analysis
Create and review journal entries in the GL along with excellent supporting schedules during themonth related to daily activities and month end close
Provide guidance to coworkers regarding financial practices, implications, and policies
Provide ad hoc analysis support to business leaders and key partners for complex accounting questions and projects
Prepare certain aspects of quarterly investor reporting
Flex between doing tactical work and supervising team members as needed
Assist VP Accounting in managing 2 Senior Accountant Resources
Financial Data & Systems
Work with the internal data analysts and engineers to enhance financial reporting & systems
implementation that will scale as the business grows
Aid in integrations between our ERP and additional software tools to modernize and scale the business
Financial Audit
Play a key role in preparation for our annual audit including process documentation and recommendations
Help manage the audit by providing audit requests and preparation of certain schedules within the financial statements
