The responsibilities of the Operations Superintendent include providing leadership for managing day-to-day operations of Safety, Quality, and meeting the forecast. In addition, they are responsible for reducing operational costs, lead continuous improvement events, monitoring their department's compliance with operational policies and maintaining required KPIs for the department.

A successful Operations Superintendent will quickly understand the business culture and processes of ATI Oakdale, be able to lead continuous improvement events, and provide leadership to the operation of the facility.

Essential Functions

  • Directs safety program ensuring employee safety and engagement to achieve established goals.

  • Manage, coach and mentor team which includes task assignment, performance management, policy adherence and development.

  • Support recruiting initiatives to hire top talent

  • Measure, monitor and analyze production performance and make necessary adjustments to meet business objectives.

  • Use CI Tools to improve, Safety, Right First Time and Meet the Forecast and meet all other goals using PDCA principles.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience) with 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Experience managing, guiding, and developing employees in a production or operations role

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Lean Principles in a manufacturing environment.

  • Oracle, Maximo, etc. experience

  • Advanced knowledge of production, operations, and materials planning, practices, and processes

Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, and Power Point at a minimum) required to accomplish day-to-day work activities and willingness to learn additional programs

  • Exceptional analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities

  • Effective interpersonal, leadership, and written and verbal communication skills

  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management and prioritization skills
