Robert Half Forensic Accountant in Oak Brook, Illinois

Description We are seeking a Forensic Accountant to join our team in Addison, Illinois. This role involves a special project requiring a strong technical accounting and auditing background to rebuild financials and bank reconciliations for a prior acquisition. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Reconstruct financial records for a previous acquisition to prepare for sale

• Conduct thorough audits to ensure financial accuracy

• Utilize accounting software systems to manage business processes

• Perform forensic accounting duties to investigate and resolve discrepancies

• Carry out business valuation activities to determine the worth of the business

• Oversee financial reconciliation tasks to ensure bank statements match recorded amounts

• Handle accounting functions across three separate systems to maintain organization and efficiency. Requirements • Must possess proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Capability to perform all Accounting Functions efficiently

• Prior experience in Auditing is desirable

• Should have a strong knowledge of Business Valuation

• Must hold expertise in Forensic Accounting

• Experience in Financial Reconciliation is essential

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required

• Certification as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) is preferred

• Excellent analytical skills to identify inaccuracies in financial documents

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work

• Excellent communication and report writing skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information

• Should be able to work independently and as part of a team

• Strong ethical standards and integrity are required

• Must be able to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word, is required

• Strong problem-solving skills to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
