Job Description

Global Procurement in Semikron Danfoss is looking for an experienced and self-driven Global Category Manager (m/f/d) with a strategic mindset to join our mechanical category team in Nuremberg Flensburg or Vrbove.

If you are passionate about creating strong commercial results, supplier and sourcing strategies, developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers, this opportunity is for you.

Job Responsibilities

As our Global Category Manager (m/f/d) you will be entrusted with the responsibility for managing a selected number of suppliers. You will be handling mechanical categories.

Responsibilities for this position also include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Accelerate and build cost-down impact from suppliers driving and executing a sustainable savings pipeline across all levers while utilizing cross-functional teams.

  • Develop and implement supplier strategies and negotiate value-based annually.

  • Build a manage supplier cost savings catalogue with technical and process ideas.

  • Manage escalated supplier topics including, performance, capacity and risk management.

  • Ensure compliance for contract and certifications for suppliers under your responsibility.

  • Support the Danfoss decarbonization ambition – 25% reduction of upstream carbon footprint.

For this position you have a university degree in the field of procurement and several years of working experience in direct category management, within mechanical categories.

The ideal candidate possesses these skills:

  • You have experience within category strategy, commercial negotiation, RFQ process, TCO mindset suppliers benchmark.

  • You have the ability to evaluate open book model and a good sense of cost competitiveness.

  • You have experience working in a matrixed organization and manage stakeholders’ expectations.

  • You have a strong commercial and strategic mindset.

  • You are fluent in English, local language skills are a plus.

  • Experience within metal categories like stamping, pressed parts, alu casting, plastic etc. will be an advantage.
