The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for providing strategic, developmental and tactical direction for planning and distribution activities. Scope of influence includes: Forecasting, Supply Planning, Order Replenishment, Inventory Management, Distribution Network Manager, Customer Collaboration, Transportation, Customs Compliance and other activities required to ensure accurate and timely availability of materials.
This leadership role will directly influence materials management and global logistics within the corporation through direct interactions with domestic facilities, suppliers and Customers.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Achieve targeted customer delivery levels while leading the implementation of world class inventory management practices to drive increased inventory turns
Direct and coordinate priorities for subordinates in Forecasting/Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Management, Logistics; and other areas as designated
Build departmental skills in database and analytics to help the organization better understand, predict, and enhance performance
Monitor Key Performance Indicators and lead corrective actions
Coordinate with Procurement and Manufacturing teams to reduce total supply chain costs and improve supplier performance
Drive delivery and cost performance and improvement across SC organization
Prove direction on distribution on best practices and network design
Lead performance improvement initiatives throughout the Supply Chain and assist in driving continuous improvement tools throughout the corporation.
Develop collaborative relationships with Customers, Suppliers, Sales Teams, Domestic Manufacturing, and Asia Operations in an effort to improve service levels while optimizing costs
Manage monthly SIOP process by developing, organizing, and presenting a balanced view of customer demand and available supply, with inventory and action plans to address imbalances
Manage and optimize existing IT Planning Systems and participate in the selection, and implementation, of version upgrades and new systems
Establish and ensure compliance with all US customs policies and regulations. Examine industry trends and global trade activities; keep informed of legal and regulatory requirements and changes
Identify and execute long-term strategies that align with company vision
Travel required (20% to 30%)
Performs other related duties as needed and assigned
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, or related field
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in supply chain / materials management / logistics / distributions
Superior planning and analytical capabilities, and ability to appropriately summarize for executive management
Experienced in implementing new processes and tools internally across the value chain
Management of performance metrics and accountability for results
Proven abilities to develop and coach teams
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and demonstrated successful ability to build positive partnerships, while working collaboratively with cross-functional business teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Familiarity with the plumbing industry and or Consumer products
Certifications in Lean, APICS, CPIM or Six Sigma methodologies
M.B.A. or Master’s degree focused on Supply Chain/Operations
