We are seeking a hardworking and dependable individual to join our team as a Custodian to ensure a safe and hygienic work environment for our employees and customers. This individual must be capable of working independently to support the cleanliness and maintenance of 2 facilities in Metro Detroit. The primary work location is in Novi, MI; with a secondary, occasional work location in New Hudson, MI.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean assigned areas with the use of standard custodian materials and equipment.

• Clean floors – sweep, vacuum, dust mop, damp mop, walk-behind industrial floor scrubber.

• Clean rugs and mats.

• Wipe and sanitize counters, tables, and other surfaces.

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, break rooms, and processing areas.

• Keep the manufacturing and shop floors clean from spills, dust, and debris.

• Minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing air filters, and minor building repairs.

• Wash walls, windows, furniture, and other items to maintain and clean, safe environment.

• Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures.

• Assist with organization of materials.

• Follow safety protocols and use PPE to prevent accidents and injuries.

• Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or cleanliness concerns to the appropriate personnel for resolution.

• Inventory, monitoring of, and ordering of cleaning supplies and restroom amenities to keep the facility stocked.

• Timely complete all tasks assigned by Supervisor.

• Exhibit professionalism with customers, clients, and coworkers.

• Maintain customer and program confidentiality.

• Other duties as assigned.

  Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Proven experience in custodial or janitorial duties, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals used in commercial cleaning operations.

• Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and prioritize tasks.

• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the facilities.

• Physical stamina and the ability to lift objects, bend, stoop, walk, and stand for extended periods of time.

  Job Details:

• Work environment: Manufacturing/shop environments.

• Physical demands: This job requires continuous physical exertion. Primarily walking or standing for an entire shift.

• Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (We have some flexibility in the start and end times of the shift)

• Employee will work primarily out of our Novi, MI facility, with one day every other week spent in our New Hudson facility.
