Sartorius Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Onsite in Nottingham, United Kingdom

Join our Engineering team as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer at our Nottingham site.

Are you an experienced Maintenance Fitter in the manufacturing industry?

We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer for the Engineering department at Sartorius Albumedix Ltd. In this role, you will be responsible for routine maintenance activities and respond to breakdowns within the manufacturing facility.

The team consists of 4 professionals, and we are looking forward to shaping the future with you.

You will be working Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm, though you will be required to be on call every 9 days to support 24/7 production facility.

This role is based on site in central Nottingham and the site is easy to get to, being only a short walk from the train station and tram stop.

Grow with us – Your Responsibilities

  • Undertake day to day planned and demand maintenance activities to keep the manufacturing facility running to defined schedules

  • You will maintain, repair, install a range of process and utility equipment including: steam systems, compressed air systems, chilled water systems, pressure vessels, centrifugal and rotary lobe pumps, agitators

  • Supporting small engineering project and larger capital investment projects whilst adhering to cGMP requirements

  • Provide routine out of hour’s emergency callout support as per engineering callout rota

  • Use computer-based engineering maintenance management system to organise, priorities and record engineering works

  • Schedule, manage and work with external contractors, technical consultants, and suppliers

  • Assist with planning and coordination of annual shutdown plan

  • Writing and reviewing routine documentation such as SOP’s, risk assessments, method statements and change requests

  • Contribute to Opex projects reducing budgetary spend

  • Working with the department to ensure the facility is always in an audit ready state including general housekeeping of engineering workshops

  • Ensuring documents are kept up to date and reflect validates status ie.: SOP’s, P&ID’s, calibration certificates, maintenance records, equipment history files

  • Ensuring safe working environment, report near misses, and follow cGMP at all times

  • Provide non – routine support to other engineering disciplines as where required

  • Liaise with engineering and other departments in a timely manner

What will convince us

  • Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship complete with supporting qualifications

  • Previous maintenance experience working within the pharmaceutical industry following GMP guidelines would be ideal though candidates from other industries i.e.: medical, food, drink, petrochemical etc. will also be considered

  • Ideally mechanically biased background

  • Ability to perform manual handling, working at height, restricted access, and confined spaces

  • Strong communication skills

  • Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail

  • Use of Microsoft Office

  • Ability to multi – task and prioritise daily tasks

  • The ability to follow correct procedures and quality standards

  • Ability to meet deadlines

  • Team player
