An AR Specialist manages incoming payments, accurately tracking them in the system to maintain precise bookkeeping records. Here are the qualifications and duties, specifically considering candidates with an accounting degree:

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.

  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or collections.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Oracle, Great Plains, or JD Edwards)

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

  • Communication Skills:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to interact with clients professionally and tactfully.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Payment Tracking:

  • Monitor and record incoming payments from clients.

  • Ensure accuracy in payment application.

Client Communication:

  • Interact with clients to request payments and arrange payment plans.

  • Address inquiries related to invoices and payments.

Book Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate records of transactions.

  • Update client accounts based on payment or contact information.

Reporting:

  • Generate reports and balance sheets to document financial status.

    Collaborate with the finance team to reconcile accounts
