Medtronic is looking for a highly motivated SAP Solution Architect who is passionate about the SAP ecosystem. The SAP Solution Architect will help define solution strategy both within and outside of SAP, drive design and technical implementation, and architect innovative solutions in close collaboration with the business partners. They will work on diverse projects from gathering customer requirements to implementing the solutions in an extremely fast-paced environment.

SAP Solution Architect is responsible for creating and delivering a cohesive solution across multiple modules of SAP and integrations with non-SAP application. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of SAP ECC, SAP S/4 HANA, SAP CRM platforms and integrations with other systems, along with a strong technical background in enterprise architecture. This position requires excellent stakeholder management, understanding of business processes, challenges, and needs; and recommends best systems integration solutions and methodologies. The candidate would collaborate with cross-functional business partners, domain architects, functional, technical and integration teams to define a solution and work towards implementing it.

As an SAP Solution Architect, your role in the Digital Technology team is focused on designing and implementing solutions for the business using the SAP platform. You'll be responsible for analyzing business requirements, configuring and implementing solutions, and ensuring the SAP landscape is optimized for the best possible performance. You’ll also be responsible for collaborating with other teams and business stakeholders to enhance system functionality.

​The candidate must have deep expertise in at-least one SAP module and working knowledge in multiple SAP modules like FI, MM/WM, SD, PP etc. The candidate should be able to paint the big picture and recommend alternatives to resolve conflicts between business requirements and out-of-the-box best practices.

Successful candidates for this job have strong technical and analytical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a desire to continually learn and stay up to date with the latest SAP technologies. Additionally, they should have excellent communication and collaboration skills to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Defines, describes, diagrams and documents the role and interaction of the high-level technological and human components to provide cost effective & innovative solutions to meet evolving business needs

  • Provides technical and architectural leadership and manages the overall solution design for the various SAP and legacy systems to be implemented and integrated as part of a large technical and business transformation

  • Owns, leads, manages, and is ultimately responsible for all SAP architecture related workstreams, e.g., infrastructure/cloud, integration of the SAP platforms as well as edge solutions and legacy systems, security, mobility, analytics, etc.

  • Possesses a solid understanding of SAP product offering and its interoperability with other components as well as high level understanding of interface technology

  • Spearheads decision-making for all SAP technology related workstreams

  • Ability to roll-up the sleeves and provide very active solution guidance, internal quality check of the SAP program and be a go-to thought leader on many technical aspects of the deployment

  • Reduces the overall project risk by carefully mapping out solutions, share implementation best practices, and recommend solution alternatives

  • Ensure the stability, security, and scalability of SAP environments, as well as facilitating seamless integration with other systems and applications

  • Promotes, guides and governs good architectural practice through the application of well-defined, proven technology and human interaction patterns and through architecture mentorship

  • Supports the full lifecycle management of the entire SAP portfolio including the selection, appropriate usage, enhancement and replacement of information technology applications, infrastructure and services.

  • SAP configuration expertise i.e. SD, LE, PP, MM, QM & WM modules

  • Functional Process expertise i.e. Lead-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay and Manufacturing process

  • Develops, documents, and configures systems specifications that conform to defined architecture standards, address business requirements, and processes

  • Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting hardware and software compliance and security standards

  • Establishes and documents system design, parameters and formats, ensures hardware and software systems functionality, performance and compatibility, and coordinates and/or modifies system parameters in terms of configurations, such as existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities

  • Actively identifies system functionality or performance deficiencies, executes changes to existing systems, and tests functionality of the system to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, data integrity, conversion, input/ output requirements, and storage

  • Ability to document detailed technical system specifications based on business system requirements

  • Ability to leverage interpersonal skills to establish rapport and develop strong relationships

  • Builds and maintains active, collaborative relationships with all levels of leadership across key business stakeholders

Qualifications

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 10+ years’ experience in development OR an advanced Degree with 8+ years' experience in development.

Nice to Have

  • 10+ years’ experience as an Enterprise-level SAP Solution Architect, preferably in the context of business transformation programs

  • Stated experience must include 10+ years of experience in the following: SAP ECC 6.0 integration across FI, CO, PS, PP, MM, SD, CRM; BW and SAP Security; IT/SAP project methodologies and change control processes, Implementation of custom solutions leveraging Business Add Ins (BADI), Business Application Programming Interface (BAPI), Custom modifications (CMOD), and Business Transaction Event (BTE)

  • Minimum of 2 end-to-end S/4 HANA implementation experience (Greenfield)

  • Excellent communication skills, service, and solution-oriented attitude as well as high analytical capabilities

  • Effectively able to communicate to the executive management via storytelling and impactful presentations

  • Ability to work well under pressure, execute results against strategy, and meet critical deadlines

  • Demonstrates ownership of work, passion for the job, and an unfaltering desire to win

  • Experience in medical device company, preferably with direct to patient model in FDA regulated industry

  • Experience with SAP Financial Management supporting Federal agencies with SAP ECC 6.0, SAP S/4 HANA and above

  • Experience in Business Process Consulting, Business Process Re-Engineering (order to cash process), Problem definition, Architecture/Design /Detailing of Processes

  • Experience working in SAP S/4 HANA, SAP BTP, SAP Data Warehouse and SAP Analytics Cloud

  • Experience in integration with Salesforce, Snowflake, Databricks, webMethods.io and Blue Yonder platforms are a plus

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$146,400.00 - $219,600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
