Pay Rate: $15 - $20/hr

Job Description:

Seeking a responsible Custodian to maintain our facilities at our Northridge facilities.

The external and internal appearance of a building reflects on the occupants. It is important for a custodian/janitor to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role focused on building cleaning and upkeep. They will have the physical endurance required to cover a large space. A keen eye for detail and diligence are also imperative in custodial maintenance jobs.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by emptying and cleaning trash receptacles, tidying furniture and dusting surfaces

• Sweep and mop floors and vacuum carpets

• Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g. soap, sanitary products etc.)

• Wipe mirrors and windows

• Cleaning entrances, including glass doors and floors

• Report any safety, sanitary, or fire hazards to the appropriate department

• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Previous custodial experience required

• Knowledge of use of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances

• Possess working knowledge of the methods, technique, and materials used in custodial work

• Knowledge of safe use and disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components

• Attention to detail and conscientiousness

• Ability to climb ladders and work from heights

• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

• Good physical condition and strength

Education/Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required

• 4 years custodial work experience
