This position is located onsite in northern MN

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Composite Technician to fabricate and assemble composite parts for our Product Development programs. This role involves working with materials such as carbon fiber and fiberglass, using techniques including prepreg and hand layup. The ideal candidate will be adept with tools like sanders, grinders, drills, and heat guns, and able to execute tasks based on mental concepts, verbal instructions, hand sketches, or blueprints. Success in this role requires a strong ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team, with a knack for problem-solving and troubleshooting.

Essential Duties:

  • Fabricate and assemble composite parts using various methods, including prepreg, hand layup, and adhesives with carbon fiber and fiberglass.

  • Interpret and work from specifications, drawings, and verbal instructions to build composite parts and assemblies.

  • Demonstrate creativity in solving problems and collaborate effectively with team members on new technology and design projects.

  • Develop and use temporary tools, including composite layup and metal fixtures, to support assembly processes.

  • Plan and sequence fabrication operations based on specifications and drawings.

  • Test prototype components under simulated conditions to evaluate development, standardization, and design feasibility.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Two-year associate degree in Composites Technology preferred but not mandatory.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • No specific licenses required.

  • Additional industry certifications, such as Airframe & Powerplant or ASE Automotive, are a plus.

Computer Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential.

  • Familiarity with CAD software (PTC Creo) is preferred.
