Join our team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Residential Support Specialist in the Developmental Services program at Behavioral Health Network! Behavioral Health Network (BHN) is partnering with Greenfield Community College (GCC) and MassHire Franklin Hampshire to train individuals as Residential Support Specialists. This program offers a structured series of trainings through GCC along with on-site training at a BHN site for 30 hours/week for a 7-week period of time, concluding by obtaining full-time employment as a Recovery Specialist at BHN. Program attendees are paid for their time for completing both classes and on-the-job training, which would take approximately 18 hours of the 30 hour/wk training schedule. Trainings are to be completed fully in-person both on-site and at GCC?s Greenfield, MA campus and attendance is required for 100% of the trainings for successful completion. There will be no cost to you for any of the training programs or certifications obtained during this program. The program is set to begin on September 3, 2024 with an orientation date on August 19, 2024. Your experience, knowledge and great skills will support the Developmental Services program with the following: Providing direct care to support growth, independence, and safety of individuals served. Monitoring overall health and well-being, including normal cleaning, meals, and assisting with all aspects of medication treatment and administration. Assisting with activities of daily living to encourage independence, competency, and decision-making. Supporting quality of life through empowerment, safety awareness, respect and dignity. Helping fulfill strategies to meet ISP/PSTP goals. Helping individuals served enhance their social support network by meeting new friends, building stronger relationships with family members and guardians, and engaging in community groups and organizations such as religious activities. Providing crisis intervention and emergency services, as needed. Completing progress notes, shift notes, health & medication-related documents, and other program-specific forms to support treatment in a thorough and timely manner. Providing safe and timely transportation for medical appointments, recreational activities, shopping, errands, etc. in own vehicle, as needed. Providing supervisor with hourly updates during awake overnight shifts to report the status of individuals and any other assigned tasks, as applicable. What are we looking for in a Residential Support Specialist? Commitment to consumer empowerment, growth, human rights, and community integration (required). High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required). At least six months experience in human services (preferred). Good organizational skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Familiarity with the Internet & word processing (required). Valid Driver\'s License (required). Vehicle for use during all working hours should be registered and inspected in accordance with 540 CMR 4.00 (required). Additional Information Schedule Days - Weekdays & Weekends Schedule (Days/Time) - during training: Mondays-Fridays, 1:00pm-7:00pm; after training, weekdays & weekends, varied days 9:00am-3:30pm, 3:00pm-11:30pm, or 11:00pm-9:30am, shifts hours may vary # of Hours Per Week - 30
