Robert Half Payroll Manager in North Tonawanda, New York

Description

Jenny Bour with Robert Half is on the hunt for an experienced Payroll Manager to join a growing coming in North Tonawanda area! This Payroll Manager role encompasses managing all aspects of payroll operations for multi-state payroll within an Union environment. As the Payroll Manager, you will be the point of contact for union payroll management, payroll systems management, tax compliance, and payroll reporting.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee payroll administration, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, and changes to pay rates.

  • Manage union payroll, ensuring compliance with union contract requirements, processing time sheets, and handling reporting requirements.

  • Supervise the maintenance and operation of payroll systems, ensuring data integrity, and implementing process improvements as necessary.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, handling any related inquiries or issues.

  • Prepare and present payroll reports for internal and external auditing purposes.

  • Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy of payroll processing.

  • Provide support to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries or issues.

  • Utilize accounting software systems, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office Suites effectively for data analysis and reporting.

  • Leverage Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) skills to optimize payroll processes.

  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of local payroll tax laws and regulations.

    Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in Payroll

  • Bachelors Degree in finance, accounting, business or related field is preferred

  • Experience with multi-state and union payroll

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus

  • Understanding of Payroll Taxes regulations and procedures

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality in handling sensitive payroll information

  • Experience working in the construction industry is a plus!
