Senior Finance Business Partner - Entertainment

Location: North Ryde, Artarmon

Our Commercial Finance team operate in a fast-paced, ever-evolving and inherently complex industry. We have built a commercial partnering capability where our teams are embedded in the business, providing a ‘seat at the table’ for all critical business decisions through analysis, business case assessment and driver-based planning and forecasting.

We’re currently looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner to add further bench strength to our Commercial Finance function and play a significant impact in driving plans and performance across our product, content and commercial areas.

Reporting to the Finance Director – Entertainment, this role is right at the heart our entertainment content portfolio – an opportunity to directly shape the groups decisioning and performance through high quality financial and commercial analysis.

Your role will be critical in supporting senior stakeholders in valuating and prioritising our various content deals and in house productions to deliver the best content offering to our customers, while delivering the best financial outcomes for the Group.

Your responsibilities:

  • Build deep trusted and effective relationships across the entertainment content business – be a senior advisor who is able to influence and challenge the commercial agenda

  • Partnering end-to-end with the business on strategy and execution, delivering financial modelling, providing analysis and advice on key projects and initiatives, and leading best in class budget and planning processes to support business and financial performance

  • Own an lead the entertainment content portfolio which included budget and cash management, reporting, short and long term financial planning cycles including projects such as deal valuations and evaluating content investment decisions

  • Lead an overhaul of the groups content planning and governance process – to be more agile, efficient to content needs across the groups changing portfolio of products and customer groups

  • Build strong relationships with your business leaders to develop a deep understanding of business issues and work in partnership to co-create solutions for growth

  • Lead, mentor and develop a small team in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance

Your experience and capability

  • 10 Years + accounting / commercial finance experience (Big 4 / Mid Tier or Content / TV / Media experience highly desirable)

  • Commercial / financial acumen to originate and translate concepts and ideas into compelling commercial arguments to drive business change (commercial valuation experience highly desirable)

  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills - confident in leading conversations where you have developed insights from commercial /financial modelling

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and uncertainty, change and a complex environment - adapting to challenges and opportunities as they arise

  • A passion for Entertainment - we’re big believers in knowing the product and knowing the customer!
