Job Title: General Machine Operator $17-19/HR

Job Description

As a General Machine Operator, you will be responsible for tending to 1 to 3 Injection Mold Machines. You will start with one machine and gradually take on more responsibility as you are trained on different machines. The machines have run times from 60 seconds to 3 1/2 minutes. You will run 3 to 5 different products throughout the week, as this is a contract manufacturing role. Products are taken out of machinery by end of arm tooling and set onto an inspection conveyor. Operators are responsible for the visual inspection and packaging of products. Depending on the product, there may be some small sub-assemblies involved. Additional responsibilities include operating a sonic welder to weld smoothie cups together or insert magnets into cups, visually inspecting products, trimming any excess flash, and heating up resin to pass quality standards.

Work Environment

When overtime is posted, it is mandatory. For 1st/2nd shift, that means coming in for 8 hours on the weekend. For 3rd shift, that means an extra 8 hours on Friday. The base pay is $17.00/hour. 3rd Shift runs from 11PM-7AM (Sunday - Thursday) with a $2.00/hour shift differential. 2nd Shift runs from 3:00PM - 11:30PM (Monday - Friday) with a $1.00/hour shift differential. 1st Shift runs from 7:00AM to 3:30PM (Monday - Friday). The work environment is very clean and involves plastic injection molding for major customers like Vitamix and Whirlpool. It is a drama-free workplace and not very physically demanding. There are around 20 people in production on each shift.
