Your Opportunity:Golden Heart Child Care Center, a Taylor Corporation company in North Mankato, MN, is looking to add a Child Care Supervisor. The Child Care Supervisor is responsible for the general programming, supervision and management of the Preschool Component. The Supervisor will work as part of the center team and will be responsible for supervising the staff, establishing a positive relationship with the parents, keeping records on the children and with consideration of each child's cultural and socioeconomic background, treating each child with respect and dignity. Your Responsibilities: Plan, supervise and implement the preschool program in accordance with center policies and philosophy. Responsible to create a safe, comfortable learning environment for the children. Responsible to keep component organized and neat in appearance Responsible to meet the needs of each individual child. Consider the cultural and socioeconomic background of each child and treat each child with respect and dignity. Handle administration of current children's records including: Performing intake conference for new enrollees, component transfers, and maintaining files on current children health care information. Provide health care checks for the children and monitor and keep current health care alerts. Supervise staff including using feedback to motivate individual workers, evaluate each staff member, implement policies that pertain to supervision, aid staff in meeting the needs of the individual children. Plan and implement an In-Service Program for the preschool staff and maintain enrollment to provide an efficient staff/child ratio. Prepare and conduct weekly staff meetings. Schedule substitute staff as necessary for vacationing and ill staff, attend monthly all-staff meetings, monitor and maintain staff schedules, (i.e. vacation days for fulltime and part time employees), interview and select staff members for preschool component and provide information to staff as needed. Establish a positive relationship with parents including: Implementing and recording children's conference every six months. Attend parent advisory meeting as necessary, attend meetings and conferences related to the preschool, and provide informational materials related to various concerns to the parents. Be a resource in first aid and medical information providing referrals as necessary. You Must Have: Must meet the licensing requirements of the Department of Human Services. Must be prepared professionally in the field of early childhood education and have a working knowledge of child growth and development. Must be willing to fulfill responsibilities in accordance with the center's policies and philosophy Must be physically able to see and hear on-going activities of the children and able to lift a minimum of 60 pounds We Would Also Prefer: B.S., B.A. or A.A.S. degree in early childhood development or equivalent.
