Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence Quality Engineer in North Kingstown, Rhode Island

Summary The Quality Engineer will be responsible for the management of supplier metrics, support interaction with suppliers to resolve issues, and perform supplier assessments. This position will work closely with our QA lab on incoming inspections, FAIs, and nonconforming material handling to drive continuous improvement in our supply chain. Job Responsibilities Collects, organizes, monitors, and distributes information related to supplier quality Track and evaluate supplier response, provide feedback, and ensure closure of 8D Evaluate PFMEA and Control plans to confirm that key characteristics and in-process controls are well-defined and effective Identification of key dimensional characteristics for FAI approval Develop supplier continuous improvement plans to drive improved PPM scores Analyzes failures and determines appropriate corrective and preventative actions Review and approve deviation requests Facilitate internal ISO and supplier audit programs Develop process controls, inspection routines, and CMM programs Supervise CMM and manual inspections Collaborate with Engineering to develop laboratory processes as per ISO 17025 Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quality Engineering and Quality Management Systems Experience in programming and operating a CMM and performing manual measurements Experience in incoming inspection, blueprint reading, and GD&T Interpersonal and negotiating skills necessary to build effective working relationships Proven ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams and perform root cause analysis ASQ Supplier Auditing and/or ASQ Supplier Certification or equivalents preferred Six Sigma certification preferred Physical Demands Employee must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily and, if requested, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable employee with disabilities to perform essential job functions, absent undue hardship.
