Job Description

Purpose

The Value Stream Lead (VSL) will represent their area of responsibility for the Specialty Formulation or Packaging Departments. The VSL will ensure efficiency and continuous improvement for their node while ensuring compliance is met in local, federal, and global regulations. The individual contributor will work closely with department management and cross-functional partners to ensure building the strategy for new product introductions and launches, customer on-going commitments and overall functionality of the value stream.

Responsibilities

  • Drive next generation Industry 4.0 Factory of the Future (FotF) initiatives for AP16 on applicable nodes by consulting on and driving process automation and dynamic growth models.

  • Lead respective node health check meetings to drive optimized scheduling, root cause analysis, downtime mitigation, OEE improvements and sustained OEE performance.

  • Lead production floor team member meetings to empower floor personnel with the need to drive sustained line performance and recycle ideas/feedback between health check and team member meetings.

  • Build successful strategies for New Product Introductions (NPIs) and launches on existing and/or new packaging lines. Be the conduit for novel ideas and improvements while proactively looking for best and worst case models/scenarios for respective nodes.

  • Assist management with cost standard quoting process of existing and new processes and drive continuous improvements to achieve optimized cost standards.

  • Consult and be stakeholders of appropriate Change Management and CAPAs driven from improvement projects and RCAs respectively.

  • Participate in risk assessments in the areas of human error, EM (extraneous matter), and line clearance failures for respective nodes.

  • Consult on mitigation pathways for external issues impacting the performance of respective node (supplier related issues etc.)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering or Business Administration. Five years experience in a manufacturing facility preferably in packaging.

  • Excellent listening, verbal, written communications as well as organizational skills with the ability to prioritize workload and manage conflict.
