Job Description
This position defines, designs, and implements SAP centric business technology solutions within multiple strategic initiatives focusing on enablement, automation, data insights and Artificial Intelligence augmentation. This role will focus on architecting scalable, high-performance analytical solutions that support business transformation and decision making. The initial emphasis will be on Finance, with opportunities to expand AI and data-driven capabilities across other enterprise functions.
The candidate will partner with business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical architecture solution and act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on analytics strategy and best practices, tying them to the overall Enterprise Architectures.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business leaders and functional teams as trusted technical advisor to understand strategic business objectives and analytics requirements.
Drive the solution design, development and implementation of key analytics-driven initiatives leveraging SAP BW4/HANA, Native HANA, S/4HANA Embedded Analytics, BTP and Analytics Cloud solutions. Immediate heavy emphasis on Finance analytics solution, including planning/forecasting and consolidation.
Advances technical expertise within function. Proactively demonstrates leadership by advising and sharing knowledge and expert opinions with subordinates, peers, and senior management. Mentors and trains functional colleagues and assesses current and emerging business challenges enabling functional goal achievement.
Review enterprise data architecture in highly visible projects and ensure designed architecture provides seamless integration across SAP and non-SAP data sources.
Ensures quality and effectiveness of major analytics project plans within SAP function through sound design, early risk assessments, and implementation of fallback strategies.
Responsible for performance optimization of SAP analytical applications for speed, accuracy, and efficiency, ensuring adherence to best practices.
Advocate for advanced analytics, AI/ML and predictive modeling capabilities for reporting. Practical knowledge of HANA PAL, Python, or SAP AI Core is a plus.
Sources and identifies emerging SAP and analytics technological trends from multiple internal and external sources and assess relevance. Integrates trends into functional short-term objectives.
Shapes relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and industry peers in accordance with Abbvie Values to further the mission, vision and goals of the organization.
Responsible for adherence to corporate standards regarding applicable data governance standards and data security.
**This role will require 3 days in the Waukegan office. Candidates who are not local or within a commutable distance would be expected to relocate.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's Degree with 9 years’ experience; Master's Degree with 8 years’ experience; PhD with 4 years’ experience.
7+ years hands-on experience in SAP analytics technologies, including BW4/HANA, Analytics Cloud, S/4HANA Embedded Analytics, Native HANA and BTP platform.
Well versed with Data warehousing concepts with a minimum 2 end-to-end SAP BW, Native HANA or Analytics Cloud implementations.
Strong understanding of Finance processes, reporting and planning in SAP environment. Demonstrated knowledge of other business processes such as Order to Cash, Procure to Pay or Supply Chain.
Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and Datasphere is a plus.
Familiarity with AI/ML and their application in analytics.
Proven ability to innovate with a history of new or improved technology solutions with remarkable impact on company productivity.
Interacts well with diverse groups within function, able to influence and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external collaborators.
Beneficial:
Experience in SAP Financial Planning (BPC/SAC) implementation or Group Reporting is highly preferred.
Strong SQL, data modeling, API and reporting development skills.
Practical knowledge of HANA PAL, Python, or SAP AI Core is a plus.

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
