Job Description

The Pipeline Commercialization and Strategy (PCS) organization leads the development of the strategic marketing direction of key assets in AbbVie’s pipeline. We have an exciting opportunity for a Director, Pipeline Commercialization & Strategy – Oncology working on (T)Epkinly. The Director will report to the General Manager and will be based in our office in Lake County, IL.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Commercial lead for assets from Late-Stage Discovery through Phase 3 Clinical Development.

  • Provide commercial leadership guided by market insights (i.e. market research, advisory boards, consultants, etc.) to help define where to play and how to win across disease areas.

  • Brand Strategy Team Leader (BST) responsible for delivering asset/indication commercial scope of work.

  • Lead development of Positioning, Value Proposition, Target Product Profile(s), Key Claims, Brand Name, and Final Market Image.

  • Perform commercial assessments and valuations of asset registration opportunities.

  • Lead country Touchpoint Meetings to obtain local market input into clinical development plans.

  • Lead the development of Disease Area Strategies and Early Brand Plans for pipeline assets.

  • Provide input and feedback to the Oncology Business Unit’s Strategic Long-Range Plan, Financial Long-Range Plan, and One Year Operating Plan.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in a similar role/function.

  • Advanced degree (MBA, PharmD) is preferred. 

  • Experience with Commercial is required, Oncology preferred.

  • Pharma, biotech, or consultancy firm experience is required. 

  • Previous Commercial Development, Pipeline Management, Marketing and/or Consulting roles.   

  • Strong analytical and strategic skills.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Presentation skills across a variety of organization levels and disciplines, including senior executives. 

  • Experience with matrix-based teams and project management.

  • Excellent command of MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.

  • Self-starter, and proactively drive projects toward successful completion.

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.​

  • We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick), medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.​

  • This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs. ​

Salary: $151,500 - $288,000
