Job Description

HRConnect is Abbvie's HR and Payroll support services focused on providing excellent customer experience as a primary principle.

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented individual with a passion for benefit operations to join our team as a Benefits Specialist. This position is a key part of AbbVie’s Human Resource Operations group supporting the HRConnect delivery model and offers an exciting opportunity to expand skills and knowledge in HR and Benefits-related fields while supporting our employees, contributing to our company’s culture and business objectives. The Benefits Specialist is responsible for supporting US benefits administration, including partnering with external vendors to resolve advanced level benefit issues, advocacy for employees related to health care issues, and oversight of retirement income plan administration.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to active and retired employees in the United States for escalated health and welfare issues that have not been resolved by external vendors or the HRConnect people experience team at an advanced level.

  • Serve as a representative for employees in addressing healthcare and retirement plan concerns, collaborating with both employees and vendors to find resolutions.

  • Participate in benefits orientations to deliver presentations on AbbVie’s benefits package and provide support in answering frequently asked questions.

  • Assist in managing benefits enrollment and administration for employees relocating internationally.

  • Furnish necessary data and documentation for plan audits and other assigned projects.

  • Oversee and address issues and data discrepancies with retirement vendors responsible for providing services to both active and retired employees.

  • Offer assistance in the administration of retirement income plans, including conducting 401(k) discrimination testing, managing contribution make-ups, supporting quarterly load in arrears reports, collecting pension offsets, and adjusting service dates for rehires and contract conversions.

  • Offer payroll assistance to address inquiries and resolve issues related to employee benefits.

  • Compile and provide necessary data and documentation for plan audits and any other assigned projects.

  • Actively participate in HRConnect initiatives, projects, and goals.

  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related, required.

  • Minimum of 3 years of Benefits experience, or related required

  • Strong customer service skills with focus on provide exceptional support to employees

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to effectively communicate HR-related information to employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload to meet deadlines

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with HRIS systems is a plus

  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion

  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills to effectively resolve employee inquiries and issue

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and demands

  • Must work well in a team environment and be able to contribute independently.

  • Must be self-directed and able to handle concurrent projects at the same time with minimal supervision.

  • This role follows a hybrid schedule requiring 3 days in office per week

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.​

  • We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off (vacation, holidays, sick), medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.​

  • This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs. ​​
