Job Description

Purpose:

Abbvie BTS OES organization is looking for a Associate Business Systems Consultant to support the transfer pricing and product flow process and function.

This position will be responsible for supporting projects and ongoing functional and technical activities in a highly dynamic and fast paced environment. The individual in this position will have to work closely with business stakeholders and other technology organizations to help build, test, deploy and support business critical system for transfer pricing in a highly collaborative environment to deliver high quality solutions on time.

Responsibilities:

  • Gathers, documents, and analyzes business requirements.

  • Translates business requirements to system requirements and communicates to technical resources after review by experienced analysts.

  • Identifies test scenarios, creates test cases and test data, conducts functional testing and reviews findings with experienced analysts.

  • Coordinates cross functional and multi-location work teams toward goal / objective completion.

  • Ensures compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

  • Collaborates with business functional stakeholders to understand specific business needs, processes, and business drivers.

  • Fosters business and technology relationships that encourage trust, collaboration, and joint accountability. Integrates activities across technology organizations to ensure support of the initiative approach, project efforts, and successful implementation.

  • Determines approach and solution to problem when issue is within scope of own ability.

  • Applies analytical thinking skills to diagnose and make recommendations on systems. Incorporates knowledge of business and technology to make recommendations. Translates data gathered from user discussions into business requirements. Identifies business/system needs and recommends solutions. Assists with the testing strategies and develops preliminary findings.

  • Uses appropriate tools to collect, correlate and analyze data; records and maintains technical data for use in developing operating and instruction manuals. Conducts tests; develops preliminary findings for review by experienced analysts. Assists in the development of standards and procedures. Prepares written reports of work. Applies and executes standard information systems theories, concepts, and techniques.

  • Has a clear understanding of leading industry technologies to address finance requirements taking in consideration AbbVie’s Finance system landscape.

  • Has knowledge of applicable regulations and financial standards (SOX) affecting Pharmaceutical Products (e.g. 21 CFR Part11, Annex11, cGMP) specifically.

  • Work is performed and technical decisions are made with a high degree of independence and performance is judged by the results obtained.

  • Works effectively with team/group to accomplish organizational goals. Actively participates in client or team meetings by offering suggestions.

  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Has ability to prioritize and multi-task.

  • Possess strong analytical and problem resolution skills.

  • Accountable for the accuracy of the fit of the proposed solution to the business needs.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree plus 6 years relevant work experience, or master’s degree plus 5 years relevant work experience.

  • Educational background preferred in areas of technology, finance, or business.

  • Relevant work experience means experience with helping design, build, test, deploy and support applications to meet accounting, tax, or other finance functions.

Beneficial:

  • Prior experience as a business systems analyst is strongly preferred.

  • Prior experience with transfer pricing and product flow applications is a big plus.

Significant Work Activities: Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8-hour day)

  • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.​

  • This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs. ​
