DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Engineer-Senior (hybrid role) to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Consolidated Diesel Company in Rocky Mountain, NC.

Job Summary:

Leads the planning, designing, purchasing, and implementation of changes to the manufacturing equipment and systems while leading and co-leading teams.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Ensure Safety and Compliance: Lead projects to create and implement manufacturing processes that meet safety requirements and product specifications.

  • Improve Manufacturing Efficiency: Apply manufacturing principles to enhance equipment and processes.

  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Utilize continuous improvement tools to optimize manufacturing standards and methods.

  • Influence Stakeholders: Communicate with and influence key external stakeholders, business leaders, and functional members.

  • Collaborate on Projects: Work with internal and external resources on specific project assignments.

  • Develop Manufacturing Standards: Lead the development of manufacturing standards and working methods.

  • Apply Advanced Knowledge: Use advanced knowledge of manufacturing principles as applied to Cummins.

  • Coach and Maintain Relationships: Maintain relationships and coach key stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Drawing Interpretation: Integrating product design and manufacturing equipment engineering drawings to support optimal manufacturing processes.

  • Equipment Procurement: Selecting manufacturing equipment that meets Cummins specifications and project needs.

  • Manufacturing Analysis: Using digital tools to model and simulate manufacturing processes for data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

  • Process Documentation: Producing written manufacturing procedures to establish continuity and standardization.

  • Problem Solving: Solving problems using systematic analysis and implementing robust, data-based solutions to prevent reoccurrence. Education, Licenses, Certifications: College, university, or degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or related field, or equivalent experience required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Intermediate level of relevant work experience required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Project execution for RMEP engine assembly retool.

  • Lead capital project installation for various automated cells.

  • Lead process changes to main engine assembly.

  • Lead root cause analysis in response to issues.
