Job Summary

The School of Information Technology invite applications for one tenure-track Assistant Professor in Cybersecurity position, beginning August 2025.\ \ The school emphasizes balanced excellence in innovative instruction and research. Candidates looking for a balanced experience that includes recognition and rewards for great teaching and strong research are especially encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be expected to teach in various technical and managerial areas of cybersecurity. Successful candidates will conduct research related to the technical, organizational, or human-centered dimensions of cybersecurity, or other related areas, targeting publications for high-quality outlets.\ \ Responsibilities will include: Teach undergraduate/graduate courses, develop a focused area of scholarly research, supervise graduate students, and provide service to the School, College, University, profession, and community. We are particularly interested in applicants with a demonstrated interest in mentoring first-generation students and those from other traditionally under-represented groups. Candidates are expected to take an integrative approach to working with faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds within and outside the school.

The School: The School of Information Technology (it.illinoisstate.edu) is one of eight units in the College of Applied Science and Technology. The School offers undergraduate majors in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, and Computer Networking, and two Master of Science programs: Computer Science and Information Systems. The undergraduate Cybersecurity program is designated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD). The undergraduate CS and IS programs are accredited by ABET.
