Description
The Staff Civil Site Engineer will work on project teams to create world class site designs for new projects, alterations, and redevelopments on a variety of projects including pipelines, airports, institutional, industrial, manufacturing,municipal, commercial, andgovernment facilities. The Staff Civil Engineer will work with the project team throughout the design and construction process, adapting site civil plans according to budget constraints, design factors, locality requirements,and/or client needs.
Perform/assist in civil design and calculationsfor projects from the conceptual phase through design completion.
Modify and review drawings for a variety of projects.
Design civil components for project needs and requirements that are set forth by the project managers, while incorporating client, local, state, and federal regulations including, but not limited to:
Site Demolition
Erosionand Sediment Control
Grading
Drainage
Stormwater Quality/Quantity
Site Layout
Sanitary Sewer Layout and Design
Domestic and Firewater Layout and Design
Utility Profiles
Apply strong knowledge of commonly used site civil engineering/design concepts, principles, practices, codes, and procedures within the site civil engineering services industry.
Research and compile project-related data as required by the project managers. Compile studies and reports. Write specifications.
Compile information for client presentations, shop drawing review, and contract administration.
Perform field inspections, measurementsand/or calculations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Mentor younger staff.
Comply with all company policies and standards.
Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 3 years of civil engineering experience, consulting preferred.
Bachelor Degree in Civil or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and 3 years of civil engineering experience, consulting preferred.
Master Degree in Civil Engineering and 2 years of civil engineering experience, consulting preferred.
Strong knowledge in standard civil engineering techniques and procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills.
Strong computer skills (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite)
Strong computer skills (e.g. AutoCAD, MicroStation, BIM (Revit), Civil 3D, PLS, PLS-CADD, RISA-3D, MathCADD), and/or hydraulic, hydrologic, pavement, civil analysis programs.
Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
Engineers in Training-EIT Certification Preferred
