Robert Half Staff Accountant in Norfolk, Virginia

Description

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in the Real Estate Property/Facilities Management industry located in Norfolk, Virginia. As a Staff Accountant, you will be tasked with maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and providing financial support to our team.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting regular reconciliations of bank and ledger accounts

• Handling intercompany transactions and ensuring all entries are accurately recorded

• Managing cash flow and maintaining up-to-date records of all transactions

• Utilizing Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis, including using advanced functions such as VLOOKUP

• Processing and recording journal entries, debits, and credits to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately

• Maintaining a strong understanding of the general ledger system and supporting its continuous improvement

• Providing insights into cash management strategies to enhance financial performance

• Regularly updating and maintaining accurate customer credit records

• Processing customer credit applications swiftly and accurately

• Addressing and resolving customer inquiries related to their accounts.

Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role, preferably within the Real Estate Property/Facilities Management industry.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Cash Reconciliations, Bank Reconciliations, Ledger Reconciliations, and General Ledger.

• Extensive knowledge and experience in managing Debit Credit transactions.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with a strong understanding of Excel Formulas and VLOOKUP.

• Experience in handling Intercompany Transaction and Cash Management.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Attention to detail and accuracy in all work.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.

• Professional certification such as CPA or CMA is a plus.

• Familiarity with property management software is an advantage.
