HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATORS (Hampton Roads, VA)



Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in operating a variety of heavy machinery, including excavators, dump trucks, rollers, and GPS-dozers. You will play a crucial role in our construction projects, ensuring that all operations are carried out smoothly and effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Operate heavy equipment in compliance with the company’s operating safety policies and procedures.

• Conduct daily safety checks and maintenance on equipment.

• Provide recommendations for maintaining and improving environmental performance.

• Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.

• Ensure company equipment and material is maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.

• Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.

• Coordinate with the construction team to ensure efficient and timely job completion.

• Follow directions of the ground crew regarding craning, gravel placement, and grading.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment.

• Knowledge of operation and maintenance of excavators, dump trucks, rollers, and GPS dozers.

• Strong understanding of construction operations and safety standards.

• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
