What Inventory Management contributes to Cardinal Health

Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.

Inventory Management is accountable for the design and execution of demand planning and customer forecasting systems, supply planning, product deployment and expediting processes, and the development and implementation of a stocking optimization model to minimize costs and inventory while delivering on service requirements.

Job Summary

The Coordinator Inventory Management is responsible for tracking and managing inventory accuracy of products. This job processes returns and recalls related to distributed products and fills out necessary paperwork as needed. The Coordinator, Inventory Management plays a critical role in ensuring customer orders are filled on time and accurately. This job tracks the financial impact of inventory levels and frequently communicates cross functionally with internal teams.

Shift Details: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM CST

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs

  • Understanding of FDA regulations surrounding the manufacturing of medical devices, and GMPs

  • Experience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming material – sort, count, unpack, verify goods received match bill of lading/packing slip or invoice and record necessary information

  • Deliver incoming goods and materials to various departments

  • Drive company vehicle to transport airfreight, mail, packages, and go to the offsite warehouse for production materials as needed

  • Count materials at the offsite warehouse

  • Unload trucks and move material to staging areas – prepare inventory transmission documents for incoming, raw and work-in-process material, coordinate bulk plastic receipt and movement

  • Share responsibility with others in the warehouse to run the box printing process as needed

  • Communicate with planners and vendors for certifications, packing list and quantity adjustments

  • Use a variety of hand tools, carts, dollies and forklifts (forklift training/certification done on site)

  • Comply with statutory responsibility under the national/federal regulations - take reasonable care of your own health, safety and welfare along with teammates that may be affected by your acts at work

  • Follow established EH&S procedures and policies and encourage teammates to follow them

  • Participate in EH&S activities such as: root cause analysis, finding solutions, implementing improvements, inspections, and meetings

  • Complete and remain up to date on required EH&S training

  • Follow all ISO 13485, GMP, OSHA and plant/corporate standards, policies, and procedures

  • Observe all safety precautions and regulations at all times in all areas where duties are performed

  • Report all safety incidents, hazards, and potential unsafe working conditions

  • Work overtime as required

  • Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation

Pay rate: $22.00 per hour
