As Microsoft's cloud business continues to grow the ability to deploy new offerings and hardware infrastructure on time, in high volume with high quality and lowest cost is of paramount importance. To achieve this goal, the Hardware, Infrastructure Management, and Fundamentals Engineering (HIFE) team is instrumental in defining and delivering operational measures of success for hardware manufacturing, improving the planning process, quality, delivery, scale and sustainability related to Microsoft cloud hardware. We are looking for seasoned engineers with a dedicated passion for customer focused solutions, insight and industry knowledge to envision and implement future technical solutions that will manage and optimize the Cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Experience with pre-silicon and post-silicon FW development.

  • Driving requirements derived from product planning into hardware and software teams.

  • Partnering with firmware development team to co-develop plans for firmware and development board bring-up.

  • Managing schedules, deliverables, and hardware planning.

  • Organizing, presenting, and documenting technical and program reviews/status to Program team.

  • Develop quality engineering programs which re-define how validation is performed in a hardware plus software program with ongoing development.

  • Communicate with precision and clarity to drive alignment in both small and broad teams.

  • Effectively collaborate, build relationships, and influence cross-functional team members to achieve product perfection.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • B.S./M.S. in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in Systems design across all stages of the development and release cycles.

  • 3+ years of experience with pre-silicon or post-silicon firmware development.

  • 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

  • Experience with hardware, firmware & software (system & application stack) interfaces across all modules in a system.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate technical content to general audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated cross-functional experience

  • Knowledge about datacenters & operation at scale.

  • Knowledge of high-volume server design and manufacturing.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a high paced product development environment.
