Setting up machines to start a production cycle

· Controlling and adjusting machine settings

· Fix issues that might occur during the shift

· Setup all scheduled machines in an efficient and economical manner per requirements

· Machine repair and maintenance to ensure machines are in optimal condition to eliminate unnecessary down time.

· Reads blueprint or work order for product specifications.

· Starts machines to obtain first run pieces, verifies dimensional tolerances using measurement instruments.

· Ability to maintain the operation of several machines at the same time.

· Adjusts the operation of the machines such as speed, feed rate, depth or cut.

· Performs all other related jobs and functions as assigned and/or required.

· Make the proper adjustments if parts do not meet specifications.

· Analyse drawings, of parts to determine dimension and configuration of cuts, selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feed rates, and machine capabilities.

· Review newly released engineering drawings for manufacturing capability, make recommendations

· Adjusts Program/Set-up Instructions to meet first run.

· Assist with department training and Engineering as needed.

· Responsible for cost savings programs to reduce cycle times and/or set-up times with new and existing products and process

· Maintain safe working environment with machinery and equipment.
