Job Summary and Responsibilities
Connect and disconnect electric and gas meters. Install, repair and maintain gas mains and services. Patrol service territory for safety hazards and tampering with service equipment. Re read meters upon request to verify meter reader readings. Detect gas leaks and make necessary repairs to company equipment. Have well defined knowledge of safety requirements and codes to be able to work with gas and electric services. Have proper tools and equipment and knowledge of use of tools and equipment. Ensure that services are safe and properly installed. Report any tampering. Monitor all services for safety hazards. Knowledge of calibration of tools necessary for electric and gas service. Attend necessary training. Other duties may be assigned, including assisting construction and maintenance crews.
This position may provide services to affiliates of the Company subject to the UNS Energy Code of Conduct and the related Policies and Procedures.
Job Requirements
Good communication skills, ability to communicate well with customers. Servicemen need to be able to tell customers what repairs need to be made to appliances or lines prior to connect. Understanding of codes and policies required for proper gas and electric services and knowledge of ACC Rules and Regulations desired.
Additional Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent. Must possess a valid AZ Drivers license.
Must be able to endure strenuous work in all types of weather conditions. This job requires some after hours and stand-by, call-out duties.
The incumbent may be required to perform an operational, maintenance and/or emergency function. Such function may be in a safety sensitive role during the course of the calendar year and might include receiving and acting upon product release calls.
Must have good oral and written communication skills and knowledge of computer programs.

Starting pay: $26.39
Pay Rate: $26.39
