Responsible for providing financial planning, analysis and reporting for Corporate, a business, or a P&L within a business. Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may influence work.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will...

  • Ensure best estimate for planning purposes by modeling various scenarios

  • Assist forecasting process (i.e. strategic plan, budget and short-range forecasts) for income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement

  • Work with Facilities and site leadership to plan, manage and monitor major construction projects

  • Perform weekly tasks and create monthly/quarterly reports for internally billing needs, as well as book monthly/quarterly journal entries as necessary

  • Support functional analysis and relate monthly/quarterly closing and reporting efforts, work with project/functional teams to ensure issues are resolved and controls are put in place with limit variability

  • Analyze data for reasonableness and review variances by considering sources, current business activities and historical trends prior to releasing information to business stakeholders

  • Support the Center's business estimating process utilizing financial and planning systems, obtain relevant data from the project leader community, and initiate efforts to improve process quality where needed

  • Provide budget planning and technical support to project leaders of select, complex programs to ensure the execution of program management tasks necessary throughout the project lifecycle

  • Respond to client ad-hoc requests for customized data and reports in a knowledgeable and flexible manner

  • Consider the effects on relevant IT infrastructure and controllership, from both a functional & systems perspective, when evaluating and implementing FP&A process improvements

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Accounting (or CPA), Finance or related field with a minimum of 3 years of related working experience or a Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with a minimum of 5 years of related working experience

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, (Excel)

  • Solid project management knowledge base

  • Understand business processes and procedures

  • Systems expert with financial management & analytical software such as Oracle and Tableau

  • Extremely proficient with business management & analytical software

  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, capable of effective collaboration and delegation

  • U.S. Citizenship is required

  • Must be willing to work out of an office located in Niskayuna, NY.

The base pay range for this position is $124,900 - $208,100USD, annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for a performance bonus. This position will be posted until at least June 20, 2024.
