Leggett & Platt Hydraulics is looking for an experienced General Manager to oversee the daily operations of our manufacturing site in China. The General Manager will have direct responsibility for Production, Production Planning, Quality, Maintenance, and Industrial Engineering personnel and the extended supply chain systems

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for continually improving safety culture, processes, and outcomes.

  • Maintain high levels of productivity, asset utilization and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining excellent quality.

  • Be responsible for production output, product quality and on-time shipping.

  • Monitor effectiveness of operations and initiate corrective actions as necessary.

  • Overviewing the extended supply chain & process for QCD adherence

  • Continuous improvement in Safety, Productivity, Planning, Quality, Maintenance and overall performance.

  • Develop and/or refine methods and metrics to track and report productivity, quality, and performance of production activities.

  • Confer and cooperate with HR regarding employee issues or grievances.

  • Up to date with latest production management best practices and concepts.

  • Systematic problem-solving methods – 8D, Six Sigma. TPM & Maintenance system

  • Lead & coordinate with all OEM’s on OTD, Quality, NPD and Projects

    Requirements and skills

  • Experience leading a high-volume OEM production environment Production team.

  • Proven work experience as a General Manager and leader.

  • Deep experience / expertise on implementation of LEAN principles

  • Knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)

  • Familiarity with industrial CNC manufacturing equipment and technical expertise

  • Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand planning, inventory, and stewardship processes

  • Computer literacy and analytical skills using Excel.

  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.

  • Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills

  • BS degree in Business Management, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
