Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field and a minimum of five to seven years of pertinent manufacturing experience are required. Previous involvement in plastic processes is highly desirable.

Communication Skills: strong written and oral communication skills are imperative. The ability to compose effective reports and business correspondence is essential. The incumbent must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and presentation abilities, facilitating effective communication across various organizational levels.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in mathematics is vital, encompassing probability, statistics inference, geometry fundamentals, trigonometry, and statistics. Sound knowledge of blow molding and/or injection molding processes is preferred.

Reasoning: The incumbent should possess the capability to analyze and define problems, gather data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Proficiency in interpreting a wide array of technical instructions presented in mathematical or diagrammatic forms is necessary. Location: Nicholasville, KY

Responsibilities

  • Works with SAP scheduling controls and in conjunction with the Production Scheduling function to ensure that schedules are developed which meet customer needs while maximizing production efficiencies (i.e. minimization of mold changes and downtime).

  • Coordinates and directs the activities of shift production supervisors to develop and promote maximum operating effectiveness across all shifts.

  • Tracks production figures, labor, efficiencies, downtime, preform consumption and MIR on a regular basis. Identifies operational trends and issues and recommends actions to effectively address problems and capitalize on opportunities.

  • Controls spending and variances on departmental budget line items to ensure that budgeted items are being accomplished within time and budget constraints.

  • Responsible for skills development and cross-training of production supervisors, operators (one-step, two-step and injection) and technicians in order to increase knowledge base and flexibility within the production function.

  • Coordinate staffing/personnel requirements across productions shifts, including vacations, manning, employee evaluations, etc.

  • Ensure that all safety programs and procedures are being followed and implemented in a timely manner.

  • Communicates with Operations Manager to keep aware of issues taking place in the production area.

  • May be assigned other projects and tasks by the Operations Manager as necessary.
