Northrop Grumman is seeking a Hardware Engineer join our Submarine Trainer Development Team supporting the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) in Newport, RI. You will work with a team of hardware engineers building and deploying the latest Attack Center and Navigation training systems on site in Newport, RI and at U.S. Submarine bases around the world. This position requires US Citizenship, a DoD Secret Security clearance, and is full-time onsite.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

  • Build Information Technology (IT) suites to support simulation training devices.

  • Assist in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex IT systems.

  • Fabricate and install system interconnect cabling for communications, network, audio, video, and serial interfaces.

  • Perform remote system installations of equipment to support training systems (10-20% travel)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or other related field with 2 years of experience OR Master's degree with 0 years of experience OR High School Diploma with 6 years of experience.

  • Previous experience building IT Systems and networks.

  • Previous experience fabricating interconnect cabling.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance.

  • Ability to work on site at Newport RI.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active Security Clearance.

  • Proficient in Visio to support system design drawings.

  • CAD Drawing Development and Review.

  • Current IAT Level I Certifications

  • A+ Network+ Security Salary Range: $75,700 - $113,500

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
