The Global Sourcing Manager will be responsible for leading Commercial / Fire category level sourcing strategy development and execution; developing and managing global supply base to meet Ferguson business growth needs.

The Global Sourcing Manager will be leading category level global supply base development and expansion to meet Ferguson product development needs, assist in supplier diversification, executing Business Unit integration, leading new supplier onboarding, driving global suppliers’ overall performance management, optimizing Business Unit product total landing cost, identifying and developing new materials and technologies, ensuring supply capacity, managing continuous of supply, and improving overall quality compliance.

This position will report to Ferguson Director, Global Sourcing, and work closely with Regional General Managers, sourcing managers, and sourcing specialists globally. This Global Sourcing Manager will also collaborate and partner with cross functional teams in Category Management, Product Development, Quality, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance & Accounting, Procurement, HR and Legal to meet and exceed customer groups’ expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead execution of global sourcing and supplier development strategic indicatives to support Ferguson global souring needs.

  • Understand and define key product cost structure, identify cost savings opportunities, and lead cost optimization projects execution.

  • Lead category related supplier exploration, qualification, onboarding.

  • Lead contract negotiation and execution.

  • Lead implementation of all global related new and existing product development and sourcing projects and ensure success execution of product development pipeline.

  • Identify, Lead, and Coordinate supplier diversification efforts on key categories.

  • Support Business Unit integration related complex projects and collaborate closely with Business Unit functional teams to ensure smooth implementation of the integration plan.

  • Support and assist in developing cross-functional activities with other departments.

  • Establish and build long-term relationships with new and existing global suppliers.

  • Support global sourcing and business operational process development and optimization.

  • Lead supplier scorecard evaluation and coordinate supplier business reviews.

  • Execute complex multiple-functional special projects.

  • Drive strategic direction set forth by the Company and department.

  • Manage category related supplier performance and facilitate supplier related issue/problem resolution.

  • Ensure continuity of supply for key categories and collaborate closely with procurement team and global supply chain team to meet inventory optimization goals.

  • Provide inputs into the annual budget and work within the guidelines of approved budget throughout the fiscal year.

Preferred Qualifications / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred and /or equivalent experience will be considered.

  • A minimum of 5 years of sourcing, product development, design/engineering, material and commodity management, supply chain related experience is preferred.

  • CPSM Certification is preferred.

  • Applies in-depth and advanced knowledge and skills within a professional subject area or business unit,

  • Provides technical advice, coaching and counselling within own field/expertise area to peers and the organization in general.

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.

  • Possess effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Possess financial competence coupled with technical mindedness.

  • Strong public speaking skills with the ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to large groups.

  • Ability to develop and grow relationships with external suppliers, internal peers, and other functional teams.

  • Strong Knowledge of category related products, manufacturing methods, and applications.

  • Strong negotiation skills and excellent customer service orientated.

  • Be able to travel in Global regions including but not limited to China, SE Asia, and India (10 – 15%).

  • Able to Obtain foreign travel Visas (i.e. China, Vietnam, India, etc.)

  • Ferguson branch experience is preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (MS 0365, Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, Power BI)

Key Competencies

  • 5 years of sourcing and manufacturing experience in commercial plumbing and/or fire protection space.

  • Strong knowledge of the international manufacturing landscape, with understanding of countries strength and weakness in the PVF and commodity product categories.

  • Product Engineering experience with ability to problem solve technical issues and assist in implementing corrective actions plans.

  • Assist in development of products that keeping pace with market specifications.

  • Experience with various industry standards, approvals, and certification Processes (UPC, UL, FM, NFPA, NSF, ASTM, ANSI, CRN, etc.).

Pay Range:

$7,425.00 - $12,100.00

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
