Aerotek is currently looking for a marine electrician with at least 4 years of experience from the Navy as an ET, EM, Gas Turbine Systems electrician or Fire controlmen . To work at local shipyards in the Chesapeake, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Newport News, or Portsmouth areas.

Description:

• A division or E division from the navy is required

• Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment.

• Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as shipboard systems, integrated systems and related equipment/software at company, customer and/or field locations.

• Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time.

• Applies comprehensive understanding of production and processes toward completion of assignments.

• Responsible for interfacing with customers, managing subcontractors and ability to provide work direction to others.

• Performs a variety of complicated and non-routine tasks.

• Develops and uses technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports.

• Schedules, reports and briefs customers and management.

• Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Must have experience installing, maintaining and repairing structural and mechanical systems and associated equipment.

Must have experience using various power tools and measurement devices.

Must have the ability to read, interpret and follow blueprints, technical drawings and/or technical manuals.
