Job Title: Assistant SuperintendentJob Description

We are seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our team at Newport News Shipyard. This role involves working on a complete build for a ship garage. The successful candidate will have 2+ years of experience as an Assistant Superintendent with a general contractor. Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and help manage other staff members on the project.

• Help manage and coordinate all trades partners and subcontractors.

• Ensure compliance with OSHA standards.

• Read and understand technical specifications and architectural drawings.

• Utilize proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, BlueBeam, and various scheduling software (MS Project, Primavera, Phoenix).

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of experience as an Assistant Superintendent with a general contractor.

• Excellent listening and strong verbal and written communication skills.

• OSHA training.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, BlueBeam, and various scheduling software.

• Ability to read and understand technical specifications and architectural drawings.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Federal experience is a plus but not required.

• Experience with Building Information Modeling.

• Experience on projects in the $10M - $20M range.

Work Environment

This position is on-site with working hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Conditions may vary. The company offers a vehicle allowance, technology package, two weeks PTO, and 10 holidays.
