Position at Glidewell Dental

Essential Functions

:

  • Completes basic wiring, connections, and equipment installations; ensures quality of work meets necessary requirements.
  • Installs, terminates, tests, and labels low voltage and AV-specific cable types, including but not limited to CAT5/6, coax cable, speaker wire, line-level audio and microphone wire.
  • Assembles, installs, and terminates AV equipment racks and head-ends with an emphasis on dressing the rack cleanly and professionally.
  • Assists with mount install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic, and hardware. Installs grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required. Completes all IDC connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and patch panels).
  • Assists with installation and running cable for badge/card access and hardware.
  • Tests continuity of horizontal and riser cable. Troubleshoots opens, crosses, shorts, and transpose pairs on horizontal and riser cable; utilizes of volt-ohmmeter and a tone set.
  • Configures Internet Protocol (IP) Camera to appropriate Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN).
  • Configures security Digital Video Recorders (DVR) and Network Video Recorders (NVR).
  • Installs data cable runs from camera to switchgear and punches down data lines.
  • Mounts televisions, screens, and projectors to meet project specifications.
  • Identifies cable paths and relays site survey information to project managers.
  • Works with team to troubleshoot new system installations to ensure proper function and to ensure system meets local, county, state, or federal code and legal and/or insurance requirements.
  • Interfaces with necessary teams to schedule on-site work activities and timely delivery of equipment. Works closely with Loss Prevention, IT, and Project Management team on installation, placement, and scheduling of installation.
  • Documents issues, actions, and resolutions related to installation (acceptance forms, service tickets, etc.).
  • Consults with client and/or project manager to design centers that integrate complex audio visual security systems.
  • Provides project status to management and supporting teams.
  • Frequently travels to off-site facilities to install, fix, and update security system.
  • Determines feasibility of utilizing standardized equipment; develops specifications with capability of providing alternate solutions to unique issues.
  • Performs other related duties and projects as business needs require at direction of management.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum three (3) years of related experience in the following:
    • Alarm and/or video security installation and AV installation;
    • Pulling, routing, and terminating CAT-6a cable in a commercial environment; andFiber/Copper OSP.
    • Experience in IP CCTV, access control, alarm tech, and installation, a plus.

Special Requirements/Certification:

  • Valid California Drivers License and reliable source of transportation.
  • Valid passport or documentation to travel to domestic and international sites.

Pay Range:$22.00/hr-$27.00/hr.
